Archie was appointed to the Board in late 2000 to fill a vacant position and was then elected to a regular term of office. After serving on all three subcommittees of the Member Services Committee and chairing the PR and Communications Subcommittee, he accepted the position of Chair of the Member Services Committee in 2004 and continued to serve in that capacity through 2007 He chaired the 2009 Tradeshow Committee and now serves as Secretary/Treasurer.
Archie has been in the furniture industry for 30 plus years, primarily in the adhesives sector. Archie came into the industry by way of earning a degree in design where he concentrated on product and furniture design for lighting companies. Working with designers and engineering departments in furniture companies exposed him to varying aspects of the furniture manufacturing industry. Archie recently left Daubert Chemical Company to become the National Sales Manager for Spectrum Adhesives. Archie resides in Olive Branch, MS and has 3 children, Jon, Justin and Chad.
Philip joined the Board in 2005. After serving on the Tradeshow Committee for two years, he has accepted two leadership positions in 2007, serving as Chair of the College of Woodworking Knowledge® Committee and Vice-Chair of the Education Committee.
Philip has been in the industry for over three decades, starting in furniture production as plant manager. In 1983 he joined Hafele and has several positions which include sales consultant; national sales manager; senior product manager; director of marketing; senior manager business development and international project marketing. He has been active in several other associations including the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Assn. (KCMA); Cabinet Makers Association (CMA); American Society of Furniture Designers (ASFD); American Home Furnishings Alliance – Suppliers Division (AHFA).
Philip and his wife Elaine, reside in Supply, North Carolina.
Dan is employed with Stiles Machinery, Inc. covering the Northeast U.S. working out of the regional office in High Point, NC. For the past 20 years he has been involved in many different areas of the woodworking industry including service manager, sales manager, training manager and trade show coordinator. Dan has been a board member since 2007.
Early in his career Dan had 14 years as a high school vocational teacher in Rock Hill, SC. The years of teaching uniquely prepared him for his career in the woodworking industry and work with the AWFS® Board.
Dan and his wife Carole currently reside in Rock Hill, SC.
Rob joined the AWFS® Board of Directors in 2008. He is currently serving as a member of the Public Policy Committee and serving as Chair of the College of Woodworking Knowledge® Committee.
Rob started his career in the woodworking industry with SCM Group North America in the early 90’s and has held several positions including Sales Engineer, Regional Manager, West Coast Sales Director and his present position. SCM Group North America is a subsidiary of SCM Group which supplies machinery and after-sales support for all SCM Group brand products. Rob is a member of other associations which include the WMIA and AWI.
Rob resides in Cumming, GA with his wife Kellie, and their three children Sam, Molly and Jack.
Wade joined the board in 2002, quickly becoming active in the College of Woodworking Knowledge® Committee, Member Services Committee and the Public Policy Committee, chairing that committee from 2002 through 2005 and leading the Association into an active role in forming the California Woodworking Industry Coalition dealing with formaldehyde regulatory concerns.A third generation wood products industry member, Wade began his own wood products career over thirty years ago in a Weyerhaeuser sawmill and then moved into the plywood business with Georgia-Pacific and Boise Cascade. He entered the composite panel industry in 1976, and has since been involved in manufacturing and marketing of particleboard, hardboard, MDF, and laminated panel. He has also spent several years in research, development and marketing of wood adhesives.Wade is currently Western Regional Sales Manager, overseeing the sales of Particleboard, MDF, and Thermally Fused Melamine for ARAUCO – North America.He holds a degree in Chemistry from Oregon State University, has served as Chairman of the Composite Wood Council (formerly PB/MDF Institute), and as Chairman of the Composite Panel Association.
Don started in the Flat Panel Processing industry in 1985, and spent the first 16 years working with CNC machining enters/routers in every capacity from customer service to product management with Stiles Machinery, Tekna (SCM), and CMS North America (SCM). The last 12 years he has served as a partner relations manager working on improving and managing relations between his firm’s machinery partners and both internal and independent sales consultants as well as managing activities between their machinery partners and end-users.
Don resides in Byron Center, MI with his wife of 30 years and three children Zac, Alexandra, and Kasey.
Michael joined the Holz-Her USA team in 2001. He is responsible for the sales, support and product development of the CNC product line. Recently Michael assumed additional responsibility as Executive Sales Manager for the New England and Upper Mid-West region for all products in the Holz-Her portfolio.
Prior to joining the Holz-Her team, Michael was employed by Okuma America a leader in CNC machines for the metalworking industry where he held a number of sales and sales management positions during his 12 years there.
Michael resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife of 33 years, Susan, his grown children, Alison and Jason and grandson Wyatt.
Michael joins the board with over 30 years experience in the plastics industry. He began his career as a District Manager for the West Cost in 1985 with Sheffield Plastics, known today as Bayer Life Science, a polycarbonate and PETG manufacturer. Michael also held positions as District Manager for the Midwest and Regional Manager for the East Coast, Midwest and Southeast for Sheffield Plastics. He later joined Total Plastics as the Sales Manager for the Marine division from 1994 to 2006. Presently, Michael is the National Sales Manager with King Plastic Corporation. He oversees all of King Plastic’s products in North America and Europe in the marine, architectural and industrial industries.
Michael received his B.S. from Springfield College in Massachusetts.
Michael and his wife Kathleen reside in Venice, FL. They have 2 daughters and a son.
Dave began his career in the wood products industry with Georgia-Pacific, after obtaining a BS in Business Administration from San Diego State University in 1986. He spent 12 years with G-P’s Distribution Division, holding positions in sales, national account management and product management. Dave worked for Weyerhaeuser for a year before moving on to International Paper’s Decorative Products Division, which became Nevamar Co. Dave was a District Manager at IP/Nevamar for 8 years. His concentration was in thermally fused melamine panels, high pressure laminate, and composite panels. He led the TFM Product Development Team as well. Dave has spent the past 6 years with Royal Plywood Co., in Cerritos, CA, as their Director of Business Development. Dave currently serves as the AWFS® YFA liason. Dave resides in Temecula, California with his wife, Sami and son Dylan, Dave and Sami’s older son, Christopher, who is pursuing a degree in engineering.
Jamie joins the AWFS® Board with over 38 years in the Woodworking Industry. He began as a cabinetmaker, then hardwood salesman and was with Accuride for over 20 years where he held many positions including West Coast Salesman, Western Regional Manager and Western Channel Manager. He is the current Western Regional Manager for Kesseboehme, a global company specializing in “Clever Storage” Solutions. Jamie has years of experience working on the AWFS® Trade Show Committee. He brought the Belt Sanding Races to AWFS in 2007.
Jamie resides in Ferndale, WA with his wife, Anne, of 35 years and has four children Josh, Kellie, Ben and Meg.
Mark has been with Leitz Tooling Systems since 1995, and currently serves as Regional Manager for the thirteen state Central-North Region. Mark first entered the woodworking tooling industry in 1986 as a machinist for Michigan Knife/Simonds Industries (Big Rapids, MI). Mark has extensive knowledge of the woodworking industry, cutting tools, machinery and processes; he has presented several tooling technology seminars for the AWFS College of Woodworking Knowledge.
Mark resides in the Grand Rapids, MI, area with his wife Michelle and twin children Erin and Evan.
Brian joins the Board with over 35 years in the Woodworking Industry. He began his career as a cabinetmaker and later joined Louis and Company, a leading distributor of hardware and surfacing, as an outside sales representative. Prior to joining Blum, Inc., Brian was employed by Holz-Her USA as a Regional Sales Manager.
In 2002, Brian joined Blum, Inc., in Stanley, North Carolina and today is the Sales and Marketing Manager for the US subsidiary. Brian is currently a member of the AWFS Education Committee and has been involved with SkillsUSA for a number of years.
Brian and his wife Lori recently moved to the Charlotte, North Carolina area. They have a daughter and two sons.
Steve joins the AWFS Board with 19 years of woodworking industry experience. He began as an Independent sales representative in Southern California, representing woodworking product lines such as Jet, Powermatic, and American Tool Co. among others. In 2003 he received a call from Festool and the rest is history. Steve started off in territory sales, moved into a supervisory role as the Western Regional Sales Director, took over sales operations in 2008 as the Vice President of Sales. In 2016 he joined CASTLE as the Chief Executive Officer.
George is a long-time AWFS volunteer, having formerly served on the Scholarship, Web, Member Services and Golf committees, as well as serving as a director, Treasurer and President for Young Furniture Associates (YFA).
Responsible for operations at Kemp Hardware, George began in the furniture industry in 1978 and has been with Kemp Hardware for the past 33 years.
During that time, he has volunteered with various associations and charity organizations.
George resides in Huntington Beach, CA with his wife of 40 years, Heather and has an adult daughter.
Joel joins the AWFS® Board of Directors with 20 years of experience in the custom cabinet components industry. He began his career with Decore-ative Specialties in 1996 as an inside sales representative at their Monroe, NC facility. Since that time, he has held several positions in sales and management throughout the United States. He has also held leadership positions in marketing and customer service.
Joel received a Master of Business Administration degree from Eastern University, Wayne, PA, and is a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Joel resides in Camarillo, CA with his wife Beth, and their two sons, Jackson and Reece.
