WIRC Embarks Upon Industry-Wide Marketing Campaign
Associations participating in the Wood Industry Resource Collaborative (WIRC), of which AWFS is a founding member, are working with Industrial Strength Marketing on a campaign to increase awareness and improve the perception of careers in the wood industry. Industrial’s past projects include the “MFG Day” initiative with National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), and a rebranding for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) network. “We are excited to work with Industrial and feel confident that we are in good hands,” says AWFS Education Director Adria Salvatore, “Industrial has an impressive portfolio and is exclusively focused on the manufacturing industry. They understand our objectives and the importance of our message.” The associations behind the marketing campaign are: AWFS, AWI, HMA, MMPA, NBMDA, NWFA, WCMA, WMIA and WMMA. Have you been to the AWFS CueCareer Page? CueCareer is a website that helps students learn about different associations, industries, and careers that are often unseen. Our page has information about events, resources, and career information. Click on the “career videos” tab to see video interviews with some AWFS member company representatives! AWFS and other WIRC associations partnered with CueCareer, so you can see videos and pages from many companies within our industry on the site!
In March, AWFS coordinated a “Career in the Classroom” virtual event with CueCareer. Two schools participated, and the students were able to see two different wood manufacturers “live” and ask them questions about their company and career path. One teacher said “The experience was great. I enjoyed watching my students hear things from someone other than me. I hope we do it again.” To watch the 30 minute event, click here.
